Help Show Your Love for Vancouver

Tourism Vancouver's #LoveVancouver campaign is designed to celebrate what locals adore most about their beloved city. The new #LoveVancouver landing page, complete with a love letter to residents, highlights the best of the city, including specials for locals, The Arts and Exhibits on now, attractions and activities, places to stay, along with chances to win Vancouver prizes.

If you wish to be featured in the current #LoveVancouver promotion, you can do so by updating your member web listings (through the extranet) and your own business websites to ensure content is current, your status (open/re-opening soon) is clear, and to highlight whatever new or special offers are available.

This information will be pulled into the microsite from your member listing. Don’t forget to share the campaign with your own audiences, and refer to the Toolkit if you need tips for social, or image examples.

INDUSTRY NEWS

Get Ready.. Get Set... Hustle!

The Hospitality Hustle is a FREE province-wide virtual event, a fundraiser for the BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF), and a great way to promote your overall wellbeing and connect safely with others in the hospitality industry.

#HospitalityHustle presented by Odlum Brown Limited is meant to

  • Give people a healthy goal that would help keep them physically and mentally strong!
  • Show solidarity with owners and workers in the hospitality and tourism industry who are…
    • struggling or have lost their livelihoods.
    • still working hard to keep their business afloat during extraordinary times.
    • providing a takeout option for those who are socially isolating and/or needed a night off.
  • Create awareness of the BCHF.

We encourage #HospitalityHustle participants to

  • Set a goal! The form of the activity is not important. Participants can walk, run, cycle, unicycle, golf, dance, prance, or any other physical activity…get moving!
  • Share their experience on social media with the hashtag #HospitalityHustle.
  • Challenge a friend anywhere in BC to join the event, or
  • Create a team and challenge others to do the same.

Prizes and Discounts!!

There are daily prizes randomly drawn and awarded to those who register online and post on social media using #HospitalityHustle. As well, several independent running and fitness stores are extending discounts on merchandise to keep you motivated and safe.  You can even create a team and set up a unique donation page - and perhaps earn a prize as the top fundraising team!

The Finish Line!!

Participants connect with others online by posting training videos. On May 30th, 2021 there will be a province-wide virtual event concluding with a virtual dance party.

Meetings & Conventions – A Fresh Perspective on Engagement

PCMA Canada West Education Series: Experts @ Work presents Tyra Warner
March 25 | 11:30am - 1:00pm PST | Virtual

Join Tyra Warner while she deep dives into “Contracts and Negotiations in a Post COVID-19 World”. COVID-19 is novel in more than just a medical sense.  It has made us consider whether and how to modify force majeure and cancellation clauses.  Foreseeability is the new buzzword about force majeure and insurance.  New issues regarding cleanliness, service, and safety call for new contract language.  Where we used to want clarity, now we need flexibility.  In this session, we will discuss how to negotiate the best contracts for existing meetings and for future meetings, all with the spectre of COVID-19 and an unclear future.  Owen Chiu will be attending on behalf of Tourism Vancouver.

• Judy Frankel, Communications Manager for go2HR, will cover all go2HR information and project management.
